Man drowns on river in Negros

BACOLOD CITY – A man drowned in a river in Barangay Lopez Jaena, Murcia, Negros Occidental on Sunday, January 14.

Police withheld the name of the 25-year-old victim, a resident of Barangay Handumanan here.

Police Major Joeil Reclamado, Murcia police chief, said the victim went swimming with his friends in a resort on Sunday.

However, he slipped on a rock and carried away by the strong river current.

Reclamado said the victim went missing for two days. The victim’s body was found on Tuesday morning, January 16.
