Ex-Lady Spikers Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron, Kim Fajardo, Mika Reyes and Erika Santos found themselves on the same boat as High Speed Hitters in the PVL.
Except Santos, who saw action for two seasons for La Salle, the other four players last played together in the UAAP Season 78 where they steered the school to its ninth title.
While Reyes and Santos have been with PLDT, the acquisition of Dy, Baron and Fajardo only came shortly after the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers’ disbandment last December.
All five players, though, are back in training on Wednesday, Jan. 17 for the first time since the league’s new year recruitment frenzy.
With middle blocker Reyes still out for PLDT due to her recurring shoulder injury, Baron is set to play a significant role once the All-Filipino Conference rolls out in February.
On the other hand, Dy, who was recently in Japan to support boyfriend and Gilas Pilipinas star Dwight Ramos in the league’s All-Star weekend, first joined the practice a day prior.
Dy sat out the season-ending conference after undergoing surgery for her knee injury, which was later reported as more of patella concerns.
Meanwhile, Fajardo is expected to take turns in the rotation with veteran playmaker Rhea Dimaculangan following PLDT’s sorry semifinal miss in the previous conference.
