The Las Piñas City government lauded the 38 graduates of the basic sign language training course for their achievement in enhancing their communication skills.
During a courtesy call on Vice-Mayor April Aguilar on Tuesday, Jan. 16, the graduates were commended for their commitment and enthusiasm in embracing the new skill.
The basic sign language training was held for two weeks in December last year.
Aguilar said the course was designed as part of the city’s dedication to enhance the capabilities of its workforce.
She also commended the graduates for their commitment and enthusiasm in embracing the new skill.
The vice-mayor said the basic sign language training program is a significant stride towards inclusivity and enhanced communication within the community.
Aguilar said that by equipping public servants with basic sign language skills, the city demonstrates its commitment to serving all its citizens effectively, including those who use sign language.
She said the training was participated in by members of the Philippine National Police, Barangay Health Workers, Civil Registry employees, and other City Hall staff last Dec. 1 to 14 at the Senior Citizens Center in Barangay Talon Dos.
