The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said on Wednesday, Jan. 17 that the P43.8 million jackpot prize has been claimed by the winner of the Lotto 6/42 draw that took place on Dec. 28.
The lucky bettor, a 47-year-old housewife, told the PCSO that the winning numbers came from her family’s dates of birth as well as two additional special numbers, 28 and 34.
"The lucky winner shared that she placed the bet since the number 28 often represents a car and 34 a house," PCSO said in a social media post.
It added that the winner intends to invest her winnings in a business, buy a new house, and transfer the remaining funds into the savings accounts of her two children.
The fortunate lotto player claimed her prize at the PCSO Main Office on Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City.
The bettor matched the Lotto 6/42 winning numbers 18-34-01-11-28-04, with a jackpot of P43,882,361.60.

PCSO noted that the Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion Law, or TRAIN Law, imposes a 20 percent final tax on jackpot prizes exceeding P10,000.
Winners must claim their jackpot prizes within one year from the draw date, or else these will be forfeited and become part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
The agency also reminded future claimants that the "claiming process requires winners to write their names and provide their signatures on the back of the winning ticket while presenting two government-issued IDs."
Furthermore, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles emphasized that the public now has access to E-Lotto, offering a convenient and secure way for lotto enthusiasts to participate from the comfort of their homes or any convenient location.
"This digital transformation aligns with the PCSO’s mission to innovate and adapt to the changing needs of the gaming public," PCSO said.
