The Gibong irrigation system in Prosperidad town, Agusan del Sur province opened its sluice gate due to increasing water level.

In Santa Josefa, Agusan del Sur, the municipal government advised barangay DRRM offices to prepare for preemptive evacuation as water level at the Santa Isabel Bridge reached the critical level of 5.6 meters.

Flooded areas were reported in the towns of Trento, San Francisco, and Bunawan, in Agusan del Sur as of posting time.

Local  government units in the province, particularly the six towns on the side of the mighty Agusan River, temporarily suspended some classes in public and private schools due to inclement weather.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-13 (Caraga) Director Engr. Pol M. delos Santos has mobilized maintenance teams to check roads and infrastructure projects in the region.

Delos Santos said maintenance is being conducted in a portion of the Bislig-Trento National Highway, particularly in Barangay Pagbatakan, Lingig, Surigao del Sur, after a minimal landslide was reported.

“Lahat na disaster, maintenance, and rescue teams natin ay nasa ground ngayon (All disaster, maintenance, and rescue teams are on the ground) to immediately act on any road disturbance,” he said.

Delos Santos held a meeting at the DPWH-13 office here with  district engineers in the region to address effect of flash floods. He said that all roads should be passable and infrastructures have no damage.

State weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that Caraga will continue to experience rain showers and localized thunderstorms due to the shear line.
