DAVAO CITY – Brokenshire Medical Center (BMC), in partnership with Siemens Healthineers, inaugurated on January 12 its state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at Brokenshire Compound, Madapo Hills, here.
Ronald Manuel Santos, chief executive officer of the BMC, said in a statement that the Siemens Magnetom Sempra 1.5 Tesla MRI is a revolutionary machine poised to transform the landscape of medical diagnosis and treatment.
“The Magnetom Sempra 1.5T MRI is a machine that pushes the boundaries of medical imaging. Through this MRI machine, the BMC can cater to a diverse array of patients requiring this specific procedure,” Santos said.
Siemens Magnetom Sempra 1.5 Tesla MRI has a supreme image clarity, which witnesses the body in exquisite detail with artificial intelligence-based automation and features that capture refined nuances invisible to the naked eye.
It also has unmatched patient comfort, which boasts a spacious gantry, soothing ambient lighting, and quiet suite technology, promoting relaxation and reducing stress during the scan. It could examine patients with metal implants, elderly patients with pain, and anxious patients.
The machine has reduced scan times, and the patient can experience the freedom of shorter examinations due to its advanced pulse sequences that capture critical data efficiently. The patient can spend less time in the machine and more time with what matters most.
It also has groundbreaking applications from neurological mapping to advanced whole-body imaging, the MRI unlocks the potential for groundbreaking treatments and early diagnoses in various medical fields.
“The Magnetom Sempra MRI is not just a machine but a promise. A promise of better healthcare, earlier intervention, how we can give better services, and brighter futures for patients and their families,” Santos said.
Dr. Abdiel Galicia, chief of the clinics at BMC, said that the MRI machine will offer enhanced imaging clarity and improve treatment capabilities compared to the resolution achieved by CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
Galicia also said the person in charge of the machine went through training with Siemens Healthineers to fully enable him to operate the apparatus.
The event started with a ribbon-cutting at BMC Radiology-MRI Room followed by a symposium at Brokenshire Resort and Convention Center, where Wei Chen, business development manager of the MRI Siemens Healthineers for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), discussed the unique features of the machine.
