BAGGAO, Cagayan – The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET) has recorded African Swine Fever (ASF) cases in this town and Alcala, this province.
PVET said eight pigs died in Centro Norte, Alcala and four hog raisers were affected. Four pig farm owners in Remus, Baggao, also lost their pigs.
The Municipal Agriculturist Office (MAO) of Alcala and Baggao immediately conducted massive disinfection in affected pig farms.
PVET reminded hog raisers to immediately report symptoms of ASF – immediate death, not eating, and inability to stand – to their MAO for action.
