P2-M marijuana destroyed in Mountain Province


BONTOC, Mountain Province – Police uprooted P2-million worth of marijuana plants in two plantations in Sitio Soyosoyan, Saclit, Sadanga, this province, on January 15.

TWO marijuana plantations were destroyed by the police in Sadanga, Mountain Province on January 15.  

Police Col. Sibly Dawiguey Jr., provincial police director, said they raided the two plantations under the “Oplan: Manbahdut” marijuana eradication campaign after they received information from a concerned citizen.

Dawiguey said in the first site, they uprooted 2,000 fully grown marijuana worth P400,000 planted in a 500-square meter land. In the second site, they eradicated about 8,000 marijuana valued at P1.6 million in a 1,000-square meter land.

Police uprooted a total of 10,000 marijuana plants worth P2 million.

No cultivators were apprehended during the operation.

Uprooted marijuana was burned on site except for three taken as representative samples by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for forensic examination.
