ILOILO CITY – Police seized P1.7-million worth of suspected shabu from two drug pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Kauswagan, City Proper District, on Monday, January 15, a little over a week before the Dinagyang Festival starts.

Seized from the suspects, classified as high-value individuals (HVIs) in the illegal drugs trade, was 250 grams of shabu.
The hierarchy of the ICPO lauded the operation.
“ICPO will not let up and will continue the quest to free our society from illegal drugs,” said ICPO chief Police Col. Joeresty Coronica.
Police Major Shella Mae Sangrines, ICPO spokesperson, said the CDEU was supported by the ICPO-Station 1, ICPO-Station 4, Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), and the PNP-Maritime Group in the operation.
Suspects face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
