SANCHEZ MIRA, Cagayan – An endangered Olive ridley sea turtle was rescued here on Sunday night, January 14.
Residents of Barangay Namuac saw the stranded female turtle on the beach and immediately reported their discovery to authorities.

The Department of Environment Natural Resources (DENR)-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office here, Municipal Agriculturist Office, and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Claveria sub-station examined the turtle, an endangered species due to its declining number and loss of habitat around the world.
The turtle was found to be in good condition and was released on Monday, January 15, after a geotag was placed on her.
Authorities urged the public to report stranded wildlife so they can be rescued and protected.
