French multinational company Schneider Electric is stepping up on its offer of internet of things (IoT) or digital solutions to industries and manufacturing facilities in the Philippines, so they can optimize efficiency in their business operations.

According to Atty. Norman Roland Ocana III, head of Government Affairs at Schneider Electric Philippines, the company is “committed to bringing global solutions to support local industries and manufacturers.”

He added that for the Philippine market, “our focus this year is to strengthen our partnerships and harness the power of digitalization and efficiency to build a more sustainable tomorrow for all.”

The company’s smart factory in Cavite, which is leveraging on its “Ecostruxure™ technology” on the provision of end-to-end solutions for the manufacturing sector, was recently visited by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means as well as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy.

Schneider Electric specified that the proprietary technology in the IoT sphere could enable
organizations  and businesses “to integrate various assets, sensors and other things into an open IoT architecture and software platform.”

It expounded that with such innovation, “businesses can achieve better agility, optimized asset performance management, energy efficiency and cybersecurity.”

The French firm qualified its smart factories have been cementing pathways toward “transforming global manufacturing operations” by making them more efficient and productive while keeping in mind the adoption and application of sustainable solutions.

In line with the company’s forward goals, Schneider Electric indicated it has been reinforcing its collaboration with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) “to help deliver smart and sustainable solutions to the business sector.”

The French company emphasized that it will strategically help the Philippines position itself “at the forefront of industrial digitization and innovation.”

In November last year, Schneider Electric and PEZA launched Go Ecozone, an initiative on the holding of series of forums aimed at educating ecozone locators “on the advantages of green economy” -- especially in this age of heightened call for decarbonization across industries so the world can keep pace with the 1.5 degrees C warming target under the Paris Agreement.

“We will continue to collaborate with the government to deliver cutting-edge, sustainable solutions to power up industries and help boost the economy,” Ocana stressed

The forums, as noted by the French firm, “provides an avenue for the manufacturing sector to share insights and seek support from PEZA on their transformation goals.”
