Pasay City's Top 5 wanted person arrested

A man tagged as the No. 5 wanted person in Pasay City was arrested during an anti-criminality operation conducted by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) on Monday, Jan. 15.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspect, identified as a certain Char, was arrested at around 10:50 a.m. along FB Harrison St., Pasay City.

The SPD said the city police chief, Col. Mario Mayames, reported that a warrant of arrest was served against Char for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and illegal gambling issued by two different courts in Manila.

Mayames said members of the WSS arrested Char by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Virgilio Macaraeg of Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 37 on August 17, 2023, with bail recommended of P120,000.

He said a bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Char by Judge Immaculada Concepcion Cruz, of Manila Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch18 for illegal gambling on Sept. 19, 2023, with a bail recommended at P30,000.

The city police chief said Char was immediately detained at the Pasay police custodial facility after her arrest pending the issuance of a commitment order from the issuing courts.
