Maynilad urges customers to conserve water amid El Niño

West zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. has urged consumers to conserve water following the announcement of the latest Angat Dam and Ipo Dam levels in Bulacan.

In a statement, Maynilad said Angat Dam is currently at 213.07 meters, slightly lower by 0.57 meters than last week, while the Ipo Dam decreased from 100.49 meters to 98.82 meters.

Maynilad advised residents within the western parts of Metro Manila to practice water saving in order to mitigate the current effects of El Niño.

According to the water company, the existing dry season is the reason for the lack of rainfall which is needed to replenish the water levels.

Because of this, they suspended the scheduled daily water service interruptions until the next advisory.

The disruptions would have affected parts of Caloocan, Malabon, Manila, Navotas, Quezon City, and Valenzuela.

Maynilad continues to be the largest private water concessionaire of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), encompassing a large customer base within portions of Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Navotas, Malabon, and the cities and provinces of Cavite, Bacoor, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta, Rosario.
