Cordillera lawmen net 38 wanted persons


LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Thirty-eight wanted individuals were arrested by the police in the Cordillera region from January 7 to 13.

The Police Regional Office Cordillera-Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division said the Baguio City Police Office nabbed 16 wanted persons, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with 12, the Ifugao PPO and Kalinga PPO with three each, and the Mountain Province PPO and Abra PPO with two each.

Twelve of those apprehended were most wanted persons, two each on the regional, provincial, and city levels and three each on the municipal and station levels.

Due to intensified police presence, 59 municipalities in the region and four police stations in Baguio City recorded zero crime incidents during the week.

No crimes were reported in 24 municipalities in Abra, 10 in Ifugao, eight in Mountain Province, seven in Benguet, and five municipalities each in Apayao and Kalinga.

Of the 10 police stations in Baguio City, Police Station 1 (Naguilian), 6 (Aurora Hill), 8 (Kennon Road), and 10 (Marcos Highway) logged zero crime incidents.
