Shear line, 'amihan' may still bring rains over parts of PH
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Jan. 14, said the shear line may still bring rains in the eastern section of Visayas, while the northeast monsoon or "amihan" will bring light rains in Luzon and the rest of Visayas.

In its latest bulletin, PAGASA said the Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by shear line---an area where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterlies converge.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in the affected areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
In Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas, cloudy skies with light rains will be expected, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao may also expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by the localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned the public of flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
