Police net P119,000 shabu in Caraga


BUTUAN CITY – Police seized suspected shabu worth P119,136 in buy-bust operations and implementation of search warrant in Agusan del Sur and Butuan City on Friday, January 12.

Police arrested eight drug personalities during the operations.

The Police Regional Office 13-Regional Operations Division identified the suspects as MJ, a high-value individual (HVI), 27, of this city; Dondon, a street-level individual (SLI), 42, of Surigao City; SLIs Waway, 31, and Allan, 30, both of Surigao City; Renie, HVI, 43, of San Francisco, Agusan del Sur; Dodoy, SLI, 26, of Bayugan City; Yan-yan, HVI, 33, of Surigao del Sur, and Leonard, SLI, 39, of Trento, Agusan del Sur. 

The PRO 13-ROD said MJ yielded the largest volume of illegal drugs – 5.4 grams of suspected shabu worth P36,720.

MJ was arrested through the implementation of a search warrant by the Butuan City Police Station 1, Agusan del Norte Maritime Police, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-13 in Barangay Villa Kananga, this city, around 6 p.m. on Friday.

Suspects are in the custody of apprehending units and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, PRO-13 Regional Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said the PNP-Caraga, in partnership with the PDEA, will step up its efforts to run after individuals involved in the illegal drugs trade and bring them behind bars, which, he said, is the right place for them.
