18-year-old drug pusher nabbed in Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – A suspected drug pusher was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-8 (Eastern Visayas) in a buy-bust operation on Dawahon Island, Bato, Leyte.

The suspect was identified as Dovan Vanzuela, 18, a newly identified drug personality and resident of Dawahon Island.

The PDEA-8 said in a report on Saturday, Jan. 13, that three grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P20,400 and the P500 buy-bust money were seized from the suspect.

Vanzuela was taken to the Bato Municipal Police Station, about an hour travel by boat from the island, for custody.

The suspect will be charged with possession and sale of illegal drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
