No additional requirements for assistance programs — DSWD
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has assured the public that there are "no additional requirements" being asked from clients who are requesting aid under the agency's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

“Ina-assure namin ang ating mga kababayan na ang AICS program at ang lahat ng programa ng DSWD, iyong guidelines ay walang dinagdag. Kung ano lang ang requirements noon, mananatiling iyon lamang ang magiging mga requirements. (We assure our fellow citizens that the AICS program and all DSWD programs adhere strictly to their guidelines, with no additional requirements. Only the specified requirements will be maintained),” DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian told reporters on Friday, Jan. 12.
The clarification was made following allegations that the AICS program was being used as an incentive in exchange for registered voters' signatures in the ongoing people's initiative to amend the 1987 Philippine Constitution.
"The DSWD does not participate in the ongoing people's initiative," he added.
Gatchalian then clarified the required documents for availing of cash aid and other forms of assistance.
These include valid government IDs for both clients and their authorized representatives, along with a general in-take sheet provided by the DSWD.
Also, additional documents, such as medical records or death certificates, might be needed depending on the specific assistance requested.
Furthermore, the chief stated that the DSWD will cooperate fully with Senate or Congress investigations regarding the alleged fake news of the AICS program.
"I will ensure to get in touch with Senator Imee and Congressman Manuel to gather all the details and promptly investigate the matter," he said.
