Bulakenyos urged to protect and preserve environment, natural resources
Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando on Friday, Jan. 12, once again reminded the Bulakenyos to work together to strengthen environmental protection and to preserve natural resources.
Fernando said that not only Bulakenyos but all Filipinos have roles and responsibilities in taking care of the natural resources such as the trees in the forests, surface water, and groundwater.

He said that if people cannot stop the deterioration of trees, plants and water, the government's effort to save and heal the ailing Mother Earth would be useless.
The Bulacan governor's call was made after the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) headed by Attorney Julius Victor C. Degala reported that 20 logs of illegal timber were busted in Brgy. Bonga Menor, Bustos, Bulacan by the Philippine National Police monitoring team.
The captured elf truck was reported to have no cutting and transport permit and had breached Section 68 of Presidential Decree No. 705 Series of 1975, commonly referred to as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
The elf truck containing the seized 20 pieces of illicit timber is still under the custody of Bonga Menor’s barangay office.
Related to this, Degala encouraged the Bulakenyos to report any illegal activities that go against the campaign for the protection and preservation of the environment and natural resources.
