Cops arrest fake feng shui expert for estafa in QC

Members of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Special Operation Unit (SOU) arrested a fake feng shui expert for estafa in Barangay Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City on Thursday, Jan. 11.

Police identified the suspect as Ivan Borromeo who uses aliases “Mark Lester Alvarez “ and “Celine”, 40, a resident of Barangay Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City.

Authorities said Borromeo has an existing warrant of arrest for estafa and theft charges issued by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 226 Judge Manuel B. Sta Cruz Jr.

Based on the police report, the suspect, who pretended to be a feng shui expert, victimized individuals by covertly acquiring their personal belongings including jewelry, and then demanding money in exchange for his supposed service.

Police said the suspect managed to get around P50,000,000 from various victims since 2015.

The court that issued the warrant will be informed about the arrest of the accused, police said.

Let's exercise caution and avoid giving outright trust),” QCPD Director Redrico Maranan said.
