Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Brian Raymund Yamsuan thanked the group's supporters after it was named as among the top three best performing party-lists in the 19th Congress by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMD).
“I am deeply grateful to our supporters for this recognition," Yamsuan said in a statement.
The rookie legislator and former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) assistant secretary was referred to the results of RPMD's latest Boses ng Bayan survey, wherein Bicol Saro Party-list placed third with a score of 87.1 percent.
"Since being named the first nominee of Bicol Saro, our party-list has been working hard to be the voice in Congress not only of the people of Bicol but of society’s underprivileged sectors," Yamsuan said.
"Bicol Saro, through this humble representation, will strive to be even better in serving our people, and in making good governance viral in our country,” he vowed.
“The unwavering support for Bicol Saro fuels our commitment to serve the community. Together, let’s continue making a positive impact," added Yamsuan, who is the lone representative of party-list.
Although Yamsuan assumed his House seat only on Feb. 22, 2023, he has already principally authored 73 bills, of which 24 have been approved on third and final reading. One has been enacted into law.
He holds two House vice committee chairmanships—in the Committee on Bicol Affairs and Economic Development and in the Committee on Games and Amusements. Yamsuan is also the member for the majority in the Committees on Energy, Good Government And Public Accountability, Justice, Natural Resources, Public Information, Public Order And Safety, Suffrage And Electoral Reforms, Transportation, and West Philippine Sea.
Tingog Party-list, represented by Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre, remained as the top performing party-list in the RPMD survey. It garnered a score of 92.8 percent.
The non-commissioned Boses ng Bayan survey was conducted from Dec. 27, 2023 to Jan. 5, 2024 among 10,000 adult Filipinos across cities and regions.
