Pasig City, Ninja Van to boost e-commerce industry in Pasig

The Pasig City local government on Thursday, Jan. 11, inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with courier company Ninja Van Philippines to further boost the e-commerce industry in the city as well as to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in expanding their consumer ranges.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto led the MOU signing, together with Ninja Van legal department head Atty. Claro Paolo Ortiz,  chief commercial officer Sabina Lopez-Vergara, and country head Alvin Jose Perez. 

The signing was witnessed by 11th Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Industry Chairperson Simon Tantoco and Local Economic Development and Investment Office (LEDIO) head Atty. Diego Santiago.

"Sa ilalim ng MOU na ito ay magpaplano at magkakaroon ng mga programa/proyekto tungo sa patuloy na paglinang at pagpapabuti ng lagay ng industriya ng e-commerce sa lungsod ng Pasig. Ang Ninja Van ay isa sa kilalang courier services na katuwang ng online stores na siya namang naging patok noong kasagsagan ng pandemya (Included in the the MOU is the creation of programs and projects towards the improvement of the e-commerce industry in the city of Pasig. Ninja Van is one of the renowned courier services in the country that is a partner of online stores that gained popularity during the pandemic)," the city government said.

"Parte ng ibinibigay na technical assistance para sa local start-ups at micro, small, at medium enterprises sa lungsod ng Pasig, na pinangungunahan ng Local Economic Development and Investment Office, ang pag-introduce sa mga ito sa digital tools na makakatulong para makasabay ang mga ito sa market trends (maging mas competitive) at mapalago pa ang negosyo (Part of the technical assistance that are being given to local start-ups and micro, small, and medium enterprises in the city of Pasig by the Local Economic Development and Investment Office is the introduction of digital tools that can help these businesses to be cope up with the market trends and be more competitive)," it added.

For its part, Ninja Van will focus on providing information management where local start-ups and MSMEs will have access to consumer trends that can help in the implementation of the city's Enterprise Digitization Programs.
