TALAO-TALAO PORT, Lucena City, Quezon – A narcotics detection working dog of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) discovered suspected shabu and marijuana hidden in a passenger’s body bag on Wednesday, January 9, in this port.

The Port Police Marinduque-Quezon alerted the PCG of a passenger bound for Romblon allegedly in possession of illegal drugs.
PCG station personnel in collaboration with the Coast Guard K9 Team Lucena accosted the suspect.
Haira was deployed and sniffed out the banned substances – shabu and marijuana weighing .05 and 2.5 grams, respectively – kept in the suspect’s bag.
The suspect was turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for a thorough assessment and further investigation.
