Fake news: DSWD debunks post on monthly payout of financial aid
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Thursday, Jan. 11, stated to the public that the circulating Facebook post on the monthly payout of financial aid was "not true."

The "fake" Facebook post indicated that the monthly payout of financial aid is part of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) program in which the list of names to receive the money can be accessed through a link.
"The Facebook post that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will have payout of monthly financial aid as included in the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) program, and the link to the list of names to receive the assistance is not true," DSWD said in Filipino.
The department noted that UCT was a subsidy enforced in 2018 and ended in 2020 under the Republic Act 10963 or Tax Reform Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.
DSWD also specified the Facebook pages that are not the official Facebook page of the department which include:
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091778960199
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100091676024488
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089108576197
"The aforementioned pages used the identity of DSWD without consent and which deceive the public who thought that those are the official platforms used by the agency," DSWD said in Filipino.
"We encourage the public to report the said pages above," it added.
DSWD advised the public to assess carefully and verify the contents that can be seen online and to not easily believe posts from unreliable sources.
DSWD also indicated its official social media pages.
