The 163 families comprise the first batch of 411 displaced by a 2018 fire in Laban here.
The housing units are under Phase 1 of the Labuan Sea Breeze Housing Project, a program under the administration of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte.
The housing project is located in a 18,030-square meter lot provided by the city government as a relocation site.
The National Housing Authority provided P81.20 million to construct the homes under Phase 1 of the housing project.
A total of 273 houses under Phase 2 are under construction and will be turned over to beneficiaries in the near future.
Dalipe reiterated the city government’s commitment to ensure the welfare of the fire victims, saying he aims to continue their collaboration with the NHA for the construction of the remaining units of the housing project.
