San Juan LGU opens registration for Kasalang Panlungsod 2024

The San Juan City local government on Monday, Jan. 8, announced the opening of registration for the city's Kasalang Panlungsod 2024 to be held on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said couples who wish to join the event may register at the Civil Registry Department of the city and submit the following requirements:

• CENOMAR
• Voter’s ID / Government Issued ID with San Juan address
• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Barangay Certificate (residency)
• PopDev Seminar Certificate
• DSWD Seminar Certificate (for those 25-years-old and below)
• Parents' Advice and valid IDs of parents of individuals aged 22-25-years-old
• Parents' Consent and valid IDs of parents of individuals aged 18-21-years-old

Zamora said couples may register until Feb. 1.

In last year's Kasalang Bayan, a total of 63 couples from different barangays in the city tied the knot during the event where Zamora and his wife, Keri, served as principal sponsors.

After the wedding ceremony, a reception was also held where each couple received a heart-shaped wedding cake and a cash gift of P3,000 from the LGU.

“I wish them all the best in their marriage and I hope that they will reach 50 years and even more so that they will be able to receive their 50th golden anniversary gift from the city,” Zamora said.

Aside from the cash gift and wedding reception, the local chief executive said that the 63 couples who participated in the mass wedding will also receive free childbirth services at the San Juan Medical Center (SJMC).

The city government passed City Ordinance No. 39, Series of 2022 or the Golden Wedding Anniversary Incentive Ordinance, wherein married couples who are still happily married and will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary will receive P50,000 as an incentive from the local government.
