Becoming one of the most successful actresses in her generation, Andrea Brillantes has no time for an onscreen love team.

During the final media conference of the series "Senior High," held at the Dolphy Theater on Jan. 9,  the Kapamilya actress shared that she enjoys her career of not having any love interest on screen.

“Before kasi ang dami ko pong pinagdaanan na shows ko na lagi ako may partner, tapos nung nagkaroon ako ng opportunity na parang pwede na ako mag solo artist, parang gusto ko siya iexplore, mas enjoy ko siya ngayon,” Andrea said.

(I always had a partner before I went through so many shows. Then, when I had the opportunity to be a solo artist, I wanted to explore it. I enjoy it more now.)

Making her big break in the series "Annaliza," Andrea has worked with several actors from her past projects, including Grae Fernandez, Seth Fedelin, and her co-star JK Labajo.

She also added that having no love interest on the screen gives her more ideas about herself as an actress and not being more dependent on her onscreen partner.

“Mas nakilala ko kasi yung sarili ko bilang isang actress, at mas madami lang po ako pwedeng paglaruan at mas madami akong pwedeng makatrabaho na bago. Ang tagal ko lang kasing madaming partners, I wanted something new and habang bata pa ako madali pang magexplore and habang hindi pa ako super sanay kung magkakapartner ako,” she added.

(Because I got to know myself better as an actress, I can play more and work with more people. I've been working with different partners from the start. I wanted something new, and it's easy to explore more since I'm still young, and I don't want to get used to being dependent if I have an onscreen partner.)

Girls love project

Closing another chapter with their series, Andrea's co-star, Xyriel Manabat, admitted she's open to doing a GL (girls love) project with Andrea.

"Kung mag-o-onscreen first kiss scene, gusto ko talaga sa babae. Kasi feeling ko, mas kumportable ako kapag ganon. Feeling ko, walang ilangan, less issue, and less hassle," Xyriel said.

(If there will be an onscreen first kiss scene, I would like it to be a girl. Because I feel more comfortable then. There is no need for awkwardness, less issue, and less hassle.)

Xyriel also added that it might be a challenge for her, but at the same time, it's also fulfilling.

Andrea, if given a chance to do a girls love project, said she is also open to doing it with Xyriel.

"If ever lang naman po, I would be comfortable doing that scene with my best friend. And si Xyriel, magaling siyang actress, e. Marami po kaming makukuha sa isa’t isa," Andrea said.

(If only ever, I would be comfortable doing that scene with my best friend. And Xyriel is a good actress. We can get a lot from each other.)
