MPD prioritizes security in transport terminals

The Manila Police District (MPD) inspected the transport terminals in Sampaloc, Manila on Sunday, Dec. 31, to ensure the safety of commuters.

MPD Sampaloc Police Station (PS-4) Commander Lt. Col. Brillante Billaoac led the inspection of various terminals in the area.

According to Billaoac, MPD wants to ensure that passengers traveling to and from the city are safe and organized.

He also checked the alert surveillance of each Police Assistance Desk (PAD) in Sampaloc.

Billaoac said the inspection activities were based on the directives given by MPD Chief Col. Arnold Thomas Ibay to ensure the the solidarity of security personnel deployed in the terminals who serve as "force multipliers in their jurisdiction."

The station commander continued to remind the members of MPD PS-4 to always pose readiness and alertness during their hours of duty.

He also called on every security guard of bus terminals not to hesitate to approach the police officers on duty at the PADs at any time.

 Meanwhile, MPD also intensified the police visibility and patrolling in the entire city for a safe New Year celebration.
