ILOILO CITY – The Police Regional Office-6 has recorded 75 fireworks-related incidents in Western Visayas as of New Year’s Eve.

“This is still a running number,” said Police Major Mary Grace Borio, PRO-6 spokesperson, on New Year’s Day.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recorded the most number of FWRIs with 26.
It was followed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with 24, Aklan Police Provincial Office with 10, Capiz Police Provincial Office, seven; Antique Police Provincial Office, five; Guimaras Police Provincial Office, two, and Bacolod City Police Office, one.
The Department of Health (DOH)-Western Visayas has not released a consolidated report on the number of FWRIs.
The DOH-6 only released a partial report for hospitals checked by its monitoring team in Iloilo City, the regional capital. It recorded 12 firecracker-related injuries here.
