Man, uncle electrocuted to death in Victorias City


BACOLOD CITY – A 19-year-old man and his uncle died after they were electrocuted in Hacienda Carugiat, Barangay 13, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, September 19.

Police withheld the names of the 19-year-old victim from Barangay 13, Victorias City, and his 60-year-old uncle from Barangay Pasil, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Police Capt. Genus David, deputy chief of the Victorias City Police Station, said the victims, who were both farmers, were preparing their carabao sled when a live wire fell and landed on the sled.

The 19-year-old victim touched the sled and was electrocuted.

He collapsed to the ground, prompting his uncle to rush and rescue him. However, his uncle was also electrocuted. 

The victims were declared dead in a hospital.
