Muntinlupa mayor to students: Don't get used to having no classes due to light rains

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon advised students to not get used to the idea of classes being suspended when there are light rains. 

“Payo sa mga estudyante mula sa isang tatay (ng mga anak ko at ng lungsod) : huwag masyadong masanay na pag may konting ulan umaasa agad na walang pasok (An advice to students from a father [of my children and of the city]: don’t get used [to the idea] that when they are light rains, you will immediately expect that there will be no classes),” Biazon posted on Facebook.

He added, “Kasi pag magta-trabaho na kayo kahit Orange Warning malamang may pasok pa rin kayo sa trabaho (When you start working, even if it’s an Orange Warning, probably you will still report to work).” 

“Remember, difficulty builds character while comfort leads to complacency. Ok lang yung paminsan-minsan nahihirapan tayo (It’s okay that sometimes we face hardship),” he said. 

Classes have been suspended in Muntinlupa since Monday due to tropical storm Enteng and the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat). 

Biazon suspended face-to-face classes in all levels in public and private schools in Muntinlupa for Sept. 5. 

He encouraged schools to shift to modular or distance learning.
