After a decade, the Sta Lucia Golf Tour makes a much-awaited return to Cebu this week as Alta Vista Golf & Country Club hosts the second stage of this year’s course-hopping series.

This event, which is open exclusively to members of the 11 courses under the banner of Santa Lucia Realty and Development Inc., opened with the Davao leg last month at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Sports Club and South Pacific Golf Club.

Alta Vista is a par-72 layout carved on the hills of Barangay Pardo, which is close to the southern tip of the bustling City of Cebu.

A total of 68 teams will see action in the two-man tournament that will run on Thursday and Friday all bidding to deliver the much-needed points for their home clubs in pursuit of the Club of the Year that will be awarded at the end of the course-hopping series next month in three courses in the Calabarzon area.

The Sta. Lucia Tour which is co-presented by Sta. Lucia Land, Inc. the United Asia Auto Group, Inc. (UAAGI) through the four brands it is distributing locally (BAIC, Chery, Foton and Lynk & Co), Philippine Airlines. 

Premium sponsors are Davies Paints, VMJ, Hanabishi, Okada Manila, GG&A Club Shares and G&W Club Shares with Get Go as hole-in-one sponsor.

There will be one shotgun start per day at 7:30 am.

The competition will open with the four-ball stroke play on Thursday and will close with the full scramble format on Friday.

The participants will have their practice round on Wednesday and welcome cocktails will be held at the Alta Vista ballroom in the afternoon for all the participants.

For the four-ball format, the individual course handicap will apply while for the dull scramble event, only 25% of the total handicap of the partners will be applied as team handicap.

Aside from the host club, the other participating teams are from Eagle Ridge, Orchard, Rancho Palos Verdes, South Pacific, Summit Point, Caliraya Springs, Beverly Place, Pinewoods, Royale Tagaytay, and defending champion Lakewood.
