Over 1,000 families evacuated in Caloocan, Valenzuela, QC


A total of 1,360 families from Caloocan, Valenzuela, and Quezon City were evacuated after severe flooding affected their areas, brought on by heavy rains from Tropical Storm Enteng.

In Caloocan City, 632 families were relocated to evacuation centers, the public information office said.

The local government also issued flood advisories for several areas that were not passable to all types of vehicles as of 11:40 a.m., including:

- North Olympus, Barangay 172
- Doña Aurora Road
- Quirino Highway Malaria, Barangay 185
- Durian Street, Barangay 177 
- Corner Acacia and Santolan Street, Barangay 179 
- Sapang Alat Bridge, Barangay 185
- Manggahan Street
- Sampaguita Street
- Crispulo Street 
- Everlasting Street 
-Barugo Road
-T. Samson Bridge

The local government added that the 1456 Camarin Road in Barangay 174 was not passable to motorcycles.

Meanwhile, in Valenzuela City, 86 families were evacuated from District 1 and 2.

The city government also issued flood advisory updates on various areas in the city.

As of 2 p.m., the following areas in Valenzuela were passable to all types of vehicles :

Macarthur Highway

-Footbridge Dalandanan

-Maysan-Paso de Blas -NLEX- Bagbaguin

-Bartolome St. Malanday (Gutter Deep level 5 inches)

- Rincon cor. Pasolo (Gutter Deep level 2 inches)

- JP Rizal cor Fortaleza Arty 2 Subd Karuhatan (Gutter Deep level, 3-4 inches)

- Bahay Kanlungan Maysan (Gutter Deep level 5 inches)

However, the Bypass in Barangay Veinte Reales (knee deep level- 19 inches) was not passable to light vehicles.

The city government launched the "Libreng Sakay" program to assist stranded passengers.

In Quezon City, 642 families from Districts 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 were evacuated.

Local authorities have provided temporary shelters for the affected families to ensure their safety as floodwaters continued to rise.

Emergency teams in all cities were actively assisting in the evacuation efforts, while disaster response units continue to monitor the situation in their areas.
