Catholic chapel in Zamboanga City robbed

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Catholic chapel here was robbed of valuables over the weekend.

Gerry Bolo, caretaker of the Santa Clara chapel in Barangay Tumaga, said he noticed the chapel’s door open with the padlock missing on Saturday morning, August 31.

He proceeded inside and found several appliances missing – piano, sound system, television, a water dispenser, and a karaoke system.

Bolo also found out that the suspect consumed communion wine drank by the priest in the celebration of the Eucharist during Mass placed by the altar.

Police are investigating and viewing surveillance cameras in the area to arrest the suspect.
