BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ music video reaches 2 billion views on YouTube


K-pop girl group BLACKPINK recorded another achievement when their “Kill This Love” music video reached two billion views on YouTube. 

The “Kill This Love” music video achieved two billion views on Aug. 31, reaching the milestone in five years and five months since its release on April 5, 2019.

Before this, their “Kill This Love” reached one billion views on Sept. 2, 2020, or nearly 17 months since its release. 

With this, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop artist to have two music videos with two billion views each. 

Their "DDU-DU DDU-DU" music video reached two billion views on YouTube on Jan. 4 last year to become the first music video by a K-pop group to achieve the feat. 

The "DDU-DU DDU-DU" music video was released on YouTube on June 15, 2018 and it became the first music video by a K-pop group to reach one billion views on Nov. 11, 2019, or one year and five months since its release. 

The two-billion views feat for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" was achieved four years and six months after its release. 

"DDU-DU DDU-DU" now has 2.22 billion views on YouTube as of this writing. 

BLACKPINK holds the record for the most subscribed official artist channel YouTube in the world with 94.7 million subscribers to date.
