Oxin Films continues its tradition of crafting beautifully-made BL series with its latest offering "Sky Valley" launched in its Youtube Channel last July 20. Director Xion Lim's latest opus levels up the excitement with the addition of girls' love (GL) featuring the popular team up of  LorrIs (Lorraine-Iris)  from "Our Story." The combination of BL and GL in one show conjures a lot of  feel-good emotions which will surely thrill and delight fans of both genres.

The icing on the cake is the breathtaking scenery of the Lim family's very own mountaintop resort, Sky Valley Park, in Zamboanga City which is the setting for the adventures of the main protagonists Fourth (Tim Tuppil)  and Junjun (James Lucero), Paris (Angelgrace America) and Taylor (Lienel Navidad).  Tirso Cruz III  plays Fourth's father in a very special role. The cast also consists of seasoned veterans from Oxin Films'  previous BL series like Jericho Del Rosario (portraying the villain Jabo), Gio Emprese, Chad Kinis, Dovee Park, Hiro Shimoji, Philip Robles,  Jake Villamor, Kate Yalung and some others.

The  plot revolves around Junjun, a horseman working in Sky Valley resort, who finds himself drawn to a mysterious guest whose arrival stirs up deep emotions within him. The second story follows Paris, a vlogger who falls for Taylor, the daughter of the resort's owner. We daresay the characterizations were point-on.Viewer reception on launch day was highly favorable and fans couldn't wait when the palpable connection between Fourth and Junjun, Paris and Taylor, get deeper in future episodes.

Xion says "Sky Valley" is very dear to him as it's dedicated to his departed father, Robert, and it's also the name of the place where he grew up.

"I got inspired kasi  the location itself has a lot of stories to tell, based on the experiences of my friends there. So when I was doing the script , I told myself this is something na hindi pa natin napapanood  sa Philippine cinema compared to other BLs which depict the usual life in school. This is something different because it features a location in the country we all can be proud of," he enthused.

The director believes that the BL trend is far from waning, although he admits that the other players have dropped out of the game due to the expensive cost of production. "If we look at other countries like Thailand, they still keep on making BL. As for Oxin Films, I want to keep on doing this because I wish to keep the Philippines' representation in the BL world," he stated.

Oxin Films subscribers in Youtube have doubled in one year and now stands at close to 650k++. "Marami pa rin talagang nag-aabang ng magandang kuwento. And of course, this is my advocacy, to do a series which will be viewed by a lot of people on a free platform like Youtube. Aside from the Philippines, our top viewers come from India, Indonesia, US and Brazil," Xion pointed out.

Co-producing "Sky Valley" with Oxin Films is Calton Studios owned by entertainment lawyer  Chris "Tope" Liquigan who was instrumental in getting Tirso to act in the series. Note that Calton isn't necessarily a newbie in the industry, having collaborated on films like "English Only Please" and "The Panti Sisters.

Atty. Tope revealed that it's his "first time producing a full-blown LGBTQIA++ series"  with this kind of content and the dynamics were a bit different. "When I was telling tito Pip (Tirso) about direk Xion's vision that Sky Valley is not your typical BL, tito Pip agreed to be part of the series, and he did it for free!"

"Sky Valley" is now showing at the Oxin Films Youtube Channel
