
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has facilitated a cashless transaction mode of payment for shopping and in even in commuting for residents of the City of San Fernando in Pampanga.
The project, dubbed as “Paleng-QR PH Plus program,’’ was done in coordination with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the local government unit (LGU).
DILG Region 3 Director Anthony C. Nuyda stressed said the the shift towards cashless transactions offers numerous benefits with the residents experiencing faster and more secure transactions when shopping and commuting while businesses can simplify record-keeping and reduce the risk of handling cash.
Overall, the DILG noted that the Paleng-QR PH Program will paves the way to a more efficient and inclusive financial system in San Fernando.
