Faithful invited to join activities for Solemnity of 'Corpus Christi' on June 2
The Archdiocese of Manila is inviting the faithful to join the activities for the observance of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi (Body and Blood of Christ) on Sunday, June 2.

The solemn feast commemorates the institution by Jesus Christ of the Holy Eucharist to His apostles during the Last Supper.
Commemorative rites will be held at the Santa Cruz Parish also known as the Archdiocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Pillar Parish in Manila.
A reflection on the Year of Prayer will be held at 2 p.m. by Msgr. Reginald Malicdem, vicar general and vice moderator curia of the Archdiocese of Manila.
Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula will preside over the Eucharistic Celebration at 3:15 p.m.
The solemn procession and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament follows the mass. The procession will be from the Sta. Cruz Church towards the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros. The rites will be led by Manila Cathedral rector Msgr. Rolando dela Cruz.
Masses at the Manila Cathedral will be celebrated at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and at 6/p.m.
The 40 Hours of Eucharistic Adoration that began on May 31, Friday, will be held until Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m.
Also known as the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, the observance is a Christian liturgical solemnity celebrating the Real Presence of the Body and Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
On the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, the Pope traditionally leads a Eucharistic procession in Rome, Italy from the Basilica of St. John Lateran to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
