Miss Hawaii Savannah Gankiewicz is new Miss USA 2023

Miss Hawaii Savannah Gankiewicz assumed the title of Miss USA 2023 after Noelia Voigt gave up her crown due to mental health last May 7.

Savannah was first runner-up in the Miss USA 2023 pageant, which was held in Nevada in September. She will crown her successor in Los Angeles, California on Aug. 4. The winner in August will represent the USA in the Miss Universe 2024 Competition in Mexico.

"Please note that my decision to accept the Miss USA crown was not one that was made lightly. I stand with Noelia and admire her strength to step down and prioritize her mental health," said Savannah in an Instagram post on May 10.
