No F2F classes in Manila public schools on April 29 to 30 due to hot weather, transport strike

The local government of Manila suspended face-to-face classes in public schools on Monday and Tuesday, April 29 to 30, due to the dangerous heat index and the three-day nationwide transport strike.

The advisory was announced by the city government on Sunday afternoon, April 28.

 

It is pursuant to the memorandum released by the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd NCR) that all schools will have to shift to asynchronous classes or distance learning from April 29 to 30 due to hot weather and transport strikes.

 

The city government said that all levels of public schools are directed to implement any alternative suitable mode of learning for their students. 

 

Meanwhile, the suspension of face-to-face classes in private schools is left to the discretion of their school administration.

However, school managements are also encouraged to implement any alternative mode of learning. 

 

The Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) forecasted a dangerous heat index of 45 degrees Celsius on Monday.
