19 arrested in anti-crime drive in Bulacan; illegal drugs seized

At least 19 individuals were arrested during an intensified anti-criminality drive by the Bulacan Provincial Police Office on Thursday, March 7. Of the 19 arrested, 11 were drug peddlers.

Based on the reports received by Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, a series of buy-bust operations conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit joint operatives of Marilao and Special Operation Unit (SOU 3-PNP Drug Enforcement Groups; Malolos City police;  Norzagaray, Santa Maria, San Miguel, and Angat police, resulted in the arrest of the 11 drug peddlers. 

Confiscated during the operations were a total of (45 plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 28.2 grams with an estimated value of P191,760; two plastic sachets of suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated weight of 20 grams and value of P3,000; one cal. 38 revolver; two pieces of cal. 38 live ammunition, and the buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for examination while criminal complaints for violations of R.A. 9165 and R.A. 10591 are now being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.

Meanwhile, a series of manhunt operations conducted by the tracker teams of joint operatives of San Jose Del Monte CPS and RMFB 3; Malolos CPS, Pandi, Santa Maria, and Bocaue MPS resulted in the arrest of five persons wanted by law and with pending warrants of arrest.

A male suspect who is a resident of Lower Mabini St., Brgy. Poblacion, Baliwag City, was arrested in a search warrant operation implemented by the operatives of Baliwag City Police Station for violation of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms Ammunition Regulation Act), issued by Hon. Hermenegildo C. Dumlao II, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 81, Malolos City, Bulacan. Recovered from the suspect were one cal. 45 colt pistol colt with serial number 33011, one cal. 45 magazine loaded with six pieces of live ammunition, and one black sling bag.

In Bustos, a 43-year-old male suspect of Brgy. Maronquillo, San Rafael, Bulacan, was arrested by responding personnel of Bustos MPS for violation of R.A. 10883 (An Act Providing for a New Anti-Carnapping Law). Recovered from the suspect was a Yamaha Mio 115 with Plate No. 168WIE, while a criminal complaint was filed in court against him for violation of R.A. 10883.

In Marilao, a 39-year-old male suspect of Paradaha 1, Tanza, Cavite, was arrested by personnel of Marilao MPS for the crime of theft that transpired at around 3:00 in the afternoon of March 6, 2024, at Golden Target Firing Range, Brgy. Sta. Rosa 2, Marilao, Bulacan. Recovered from the suspect were 100 pieces of cal. 45 ammunition and 100 pieces of cal. 9mm ammunition. The suspect is facing theft charges.

The accused are presently under the custody of the arresting unit or station.

PNP Police Regional Office 3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. lauded the dedicated efforts of the Bulacan police against all forms of criminality.
