The PBA and sports apparel brand ANTA have formally forged their partnership as the league’s official footwear on Thursday, Feb. 22, in a press conference at the New World Makati Hotel.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and ANTA Philippines general manager JP Paglinawan led the launch of the new partnership that will run for the next three years and beginning in the upcoming PBA Philippine Cup.
“The PBA is happy and proud of this partnership. We share the same vision and values in sports with ANTA. We think this is advantageous for the league, and we are honored. Nagpapasalamat kami,” said Marcial during the presser.
“As one of the biggest sports brands in the world, ANTA is all about making our products available to Filipino basketball players at all levels. It’s the first league in Asia so it’s only right for ANTA to partner up with the PBA,” added Paglinawan.
ANTA isn’t entirely new to the league, having sponsored Magnolia Hotshots during its runner-up finish in the recently-concluded Commissioner’s Cup.
In an effort to further solidify its footing in the PBA landscape, ANTA also announced sponsorship to two more teams in the league and one in the PBA D-League.
Aside from Magnolia, Rain or Shine and TNT are now also sponsored by ANTA as well as the Marinerong Pilipino-San Beda.
Representing the Hotshots in the press conference were assistant coach Mon Jose and liaison officer Reena Del Mundo while team manager Jojo Lastimosa served as the Tropang Giga representative.
Also joining the panel were Red Lions head coach Yuri Escueta, Elasto Painters head coach Yeng Guiao, assistant team manager Jireh Ibanez and guard Anton Asistio who was also part of the ANTA Philippines official tv commercial.
Aside from the on-court partnership, PBA and ANTA are also looking to further their collaboration to several programs aimed to reach out basketball communities outside Metro Manila.
