Zephanie and Michael Sager on making 'MarSue' work: 'Andami naming similarities'

It was a turn of unexpected events for sparkle artists Zephanie and Michael Sager. After their Sparkle U: #Soundtrip episode, audiences were rooting for their tandem. 

During their intimate media conference at the Talabar Cafe in Quezon City, Zephanie shared how grateful she was for the support from the viewers. 

"I’m just really grateful and happy na na-appreciate ng tao yung tandem namin sa #Frenemies and #Sound Trip po,” Zephanie shared. 

(I'm just really grateful and happy that people appreciated our tandem in #Frenemies and #Sound Trip) 

Since this was the first time Zephanie was given an acting role, she mentioned that she didn't have a hard time working with Michael. 

"Nung una pa kami nagkakilala ni Michael, isa po yun una naming topic, syempre yung mga similarities. Favorites, simple things. Like favorite flavor, favorite fruit. So, I think, siguro kami lang talaga as a person, andami naming similarities," Zephanie said. 

(When Michael and I first met, that was one of our first topics, of course, the similarities. Favorites, simple things. Like favorite flavor, favorite fruit. So, I think maybe it's just us as a person, we have many similarities) 

Michael said that working with Zephanie has been a blessing since he started as a Sparkle artist. 

"When I started in the industry, sa showbiz, ang first project ko was with Zeph for Magpakita Ka Na [music video]. And now we're here on our second show in Sparkle U, third story. It's a blessing for me," Michael said.

He also added that he's thankful for all the fans who gave them the name "MarSue" short for Marco and Sue. 

"Naa-amaze ako na ang tawag sa amin, MarSue. Kasi for me, it means a lot when the character’s name sticks to the people," he said. 

(I'm amazed because the audience called us MarSue. For me, it means a lot when the character's name sticks to the people) 

The rising love team also mentioned that one of their similarities is that they are both turning 21 this month. 

Michael's birthday is on Feb. 5 and Zephanie's is on Feb. 14.

Asked about their birthday wishes, Zephanie said she didn't want anything grand on her birthday. While Michael wished to have more work this year since he will be doing his shoot for his new show "Shinning Inheritance'' on his birthday.
