McDonald's PH brings repurposed resto chairs to Marikina classrooms
The Marikina City government partnered with McDonald's Philippines for its first "ReClassified" project in the country, wherein chairs that were previously used in the fast food restaurant were repurposed as armchairs for classrooms.

Marikina City Mayor Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro and District 1 Representative Marjorie Ann "Maan" Teodoro led the ceremonial turnover, along with representatives from McDonald's PH.
The chairs were given to San Roque Elementary School (SRES) and will be used by students occupying a classroom on the third floor of the school building.
The ReClassified (A store Renovated, a Classroom Rejuvinated) project aims to provide classrooms in public schools with new remodeled chairs that used to be seats for customers in the fast food stores.
The chairs were redesigned as sturdy armchairs to make them more conducive to a learning environment, especially for young children.

Both Mayor Marcy and Rep. Maan expressed their gratitude to the company for choosing Marikina City as the host of its inaugural project, and helping it augment much-needed school equipment for public schools.
“Pagtulungan natin ang kinabukasan ng ating kabataan. Nasa edukasyon ang pag-asa ng lahat, at ito ay responsibilidad nating lahat. Maraming salamat sa McDonald’s sa strategic partnership na ito sa ating proyekto (Let us help one another to provide a future for our youth. Education is everyone's hope and responsibility. We thank McDonald's for this strategic partnership),” said Mayor Teodoro.

The ceremony was also attended by San Roque Barangay Capt. Louie Francisco, officials from the Department of Education (DepEd)-Marikina, led by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Cynthia Ayles, McDonald’s Philippines Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact Adi Hernandez, and Director for Ronald McDonald House Charities Marie Angeles.
