Truck hits, kills senior citizen in Sta. Cruz, Manila

An elderly person died after a concrete truck mixer hit him along Sta. Cruz, Manila, on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 7. 
 
The Manila Police District-Meisic Police Station (MDP-PS-11) identified the victim as Donato Ang, 85, a resident of Binondo, Manila. 
 
Based on the investigation, Edilberto Aballe was driving the truck mixer along the eastbound lane of Claro M. Recto Avenue in Sta. Cruz, around 5:30 p.m.
 
When the truck mixer reached the corner San Bernardo and Tomas Mapua Streets, he accidentally hit and ran over the victim, who was crossing Claro M. Recto Avenue.
 
As a result, the police said that the victim suffered serious injuries that caused his immediate death. 
 
The victim was brought to RJD Funeral Services, while the truck driver is facing charges for Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Homicide.
