A man reportedly died from electrocution after he hit high tension wires connected to a transformer attached to an electric post while cleaning the wall of a building in Barangay 95, Caloocan City on Friday morning, Sept. 8.
The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) identified the suspect as Rodel Del Castillo, 25, a painter from Dasmarinas, Cavite.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Caloocan, the incident happened at around 8:30 a.m.
Citing the statement of witnesses, the BFP - Caloocan said the victim was using ladder hanging on the building on J. Mariano Street to clean the wall of an establishment when he accidentally touched a high tension wire connected to a transformer attached to a Meralco electric post.
It said the man fell off the platform and was left suspended up the building after he passed out allegedly due to electrocution.
Authorities were able to rescue the victim at around 9:18 a.m.
He was rushed to the Caloocan City Medical center where he was declared dead on arrival, BFP said.
The incident is still under investigation, it added.
