Lala Sotto opens up on criticism following suspension order on 'It's Showtime'

Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) chair Lala Sotto is not bothered by criticisms against her and the agency following their decision to suspend "It's Showtime" for 12 airing days. 

She told "24 Oras," "Natural lang naman sa mga supporters ang maging gano'n..."

But she made clear: “Hindi po kasalanan ng MTRCB ang violations na ginagawa nila.”

Asked if there is prejudice on her part against the popular noontime show as accused, she answered, "No, that's not true."

She cited how they could have suspended the show outright but they opted to hear them out "in the spirit of fairness." 

"We are giving them the chance kaya hindi sila suspended...We will wait for its finality.”

Prior, the MTRCB already made clear Lala inhibited herself from the deliberations in an effort to ensure "members of the Board exercised their independent judgment in determining the appropriate course of action."

ABS-CBN is appealing the ruling.

The whole brouhaha stemmed from complaints the MTRCB received relating a segment of the show where hosts Ion Perez and Vice Ganda were seen sharing cake icing in front of children.
