Dismissed cop yields P1.1-M shabu in buy-bust

COTABATO CITY – Police seized suspected shabu worth P1.1 million from a dismissed policeman in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Mother Bagua here on Wednesday, September 6.

Christian Frivaldo, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region chief, identified the suspect as Nelson Sali, who was formerly assigned to the Cotabato City Police Office but went Absent without Leave in 2017 after he was tagged in the illegal drugs trade.

Seized from Sali were 1.1 kilos of shabu valued at P7.5 million, one .45 caliber pistol, and a .38 caliber revolver.

Sali was tagged as a big-time drug trafficker operating here and Maguindanao del Norte.

Suspect faces charges for drug peddling and violating the election gun ban.
