Pacio takes on Miado’s former tormentor and #5-ranked strawweight MMA contender Mansur Malachiev at ONE Fight Night 15: Tawanchai vs. Superbon inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Oct. 7.

After losing to the Russian via submission in the first round, Miado now banks on the former two-time ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion to beat Malachiev for him.

“I’m happy for Joshua, and I know that he’ll get back to him for me. I’m excited to see his return to the ring. It’s been a while since we last saw him fight,” Miado said.

Miado did point out a few things for Pacio to focus on, things that ended the night early for himself in his fight with the Russian juggernaut.

In the first round, “The Jaguar” actually hurt Malachiev, but the latter quickly recovered and put more pressure on the Filipino.

This resulted in Malachiev scoring a D’arce choke and getting the submission victory.

“[Mansur’s] good, but he’s not that strong. What I’ve noticed is that he’s got heart and grit. If you can see in the fight, I tagged him and floored him for a bit, but he didn't stop. He just keeps moving forward,” he said.

“His pressure is his main strength. He will keep coming at you, hits notwithstanding. He will get his takedowns and follow his game plan to a T. However, I feel like Joshua can defend his takedowns and pressure in this fight.”

But at the end of the day, Miado believes this fight is Pacio’s for the taking.

“I feel like Joshua’s the more rounded fighter. He’s a better striker, that’s for sure. And when it comes to wrestling, his wrestling looked good against Jarred Brooks. I don’t think Malachiev has more tools in his bag, other than wrestling,” he said.

“When it comes to conditioning, I feel like Malachiev has good conditioning, but Pacio has always been known to be a well-conditioned fighter.”
