CPP-NPA member operating in coastal areas of Central Luzon surrenders


An alleged member of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) voluntarily surrendered to the Bulacan police in the City of Malolos on Sept. 5.

Based on the report submitted to Provincial Director Col. Relly B. Arnedo of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BUL PPO), the man was identified as "Ka Boy," 40, a construction worker, and member of Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan (RHB), operating in the coastal areas of Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, and Zambales.

Police said Ka Boy was convinced to join the aforementioned rebel group for government reform to attain equal rights to avoid social injustice.

The Force Commander of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) said that at around 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 5, joint elements of the 1st PMFC, Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, 2nd PMFC, 301st Mobile Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion (MC-RMFB), 24th Special Action Company (SAC), Special Action Battalion (2SAB) PNP Special Action Force (SAF), and 70 Infantry Brigade (IB) Philippine Army (PA) facilitated the surrender of the man.

Ka Boy turned over an unlicensed .38 caliber revolver Smith and Wesson without a serial number, and five pieces of .38 caliber live bullets.

He is presently under the custody of the 1st PMFC for further investigation and custodial debriefing.

Bulacan Police is stern in its intensified campaign against insurgency and terrorism to ensure the provision of social services, employment opportunities, and improved quality of life in communities that have been experiencing or are vulnerable to armed communist conflict.
